Looking for that very special location for your next event?

The Lomita Railroad Museum offers a secure and secluded park setting that will make your celebration memorable. The museum is a beautifully recreated turn of the century passenger depot across the street and is filled with authentic railroad memorabilia. Climb aboard the 1902 Southern Pacific Mogul steam locomotive and the 1910 Union Pacific caboose on the station platform and experience the grand era of steam railroading.

The museum is located in a quite residential area, just one city block east of Narbonne Avenue.

The party pacage includes:

Free admission to the museum for all members of your party
A guided tour upon request
Free parking adjacent to the museum for you and your guests
Use of the Annex Park for 2 ½ hours

School and Group Tours

We take reservations for field trips at the museum for groups ranging from K-12, special needs organizations, and senior groups. Our tours last approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the group and the questions asked. We cover the history of our museum, our Founder, history and information about our trains and their purpose. We have a sample of coal and talk a little about fuel types and what was used during the operation of our 1902 Southern Pacific steam locomotive.

We also have a small gated Annex Park across the street with a boxcar and a tanker, the students are not able to enter the boxcar but it makes a delightful backdrop for photographs. There are picnic tables and benches at the park to provide a break before or after tours. We also have a larger grassy area, the Irene Lewis Park, which has a Santa Fe caboose where they can also have their picture taken. The park provides an open field for exercise before heading back to school or for art projects where folks have a perfect view of the water tower, Mogul and our beautiful Victorian-style depot.
