13th Annual Tea at the Museum is Canceled

March 17, 2020

Dear Attendees to the 13th Annual Tea at the Museum:

Thank you for your interest and payment to the Lomita Railroad Foundation, Inc. regarding our 13th Annual Tea at the Museum. We are sad to announce that due to the recent coronavirus (COVID-19) and the announcement from Los Angeles County that all entertainment venues, etc. are to close in order to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus that we are forced to cancel our fundraiser, the 13th Annual Tea at the Museum.

We are currently working on refunding your payment for this fundraiser either via PayPal or by check. It may take a few days for you to receive your refund, so we ask for your patience while we work through this process. Currently, we invite everyone to continue to support the Museum by becoming a “Friend of the Museum”. All membership categories include: Free admission to the Museum, 25% discount on facility rental for birthday parties and events held at the Museum, and 10% discount on purchases at the Museum Gift Shop. You can also make a donation via PayPal.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at the next Annual Tea at the Museum. We will retain your contact information and keep you informed of this and our other future events. Again, many thanks for your interest in our Lomita Railroad Museum. Following are our upcoming planned events if everything goes well and the restrictions are lifted:

  • Saturday, August 29, 2020, is our free Community Day at the museum. Family fun with local crafters, food trucks, face painting, crafts and games all day. Museum tours as well.
  • Saturday, October 10, 2020, Octoberfest & Casino Night, is our 2nd annual event, which includes donated appetizers from local eateries, entertainment and best of all, gaming including poker, roulette and blackjack. A big success last year and will continue to be in the years to come.
  • Finally, who doesn't love Santa Claus? Sunday, December 13, 2020, is the reading of the Polar Express book, picture with Santa, treats, crafts, games and hot chocolate.

Please note that the Museum is currently closed until further notice.

Again, many thanks for your interest and continued support of our Lomita Railroad Museum. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the email listed above.

Sincerely,

Katy Tamer

President, Lomita Railroad Museum Foundation
