Dear Friends & Supporters of the Lomita Railroad Museum — It has been a very busy and productive year for the Museum and Foundation in 2014. We are very pleased to
have this opportunity to give you an update on what we’ve accomplished and where we are headed.
2014 Priorities & Achievements
Our efforts in 2014 focused on the following:
offer events of interest to our surrounding communities throughout the year - Achieved
maintain/grow the visitor count - Achieved
acquire additional on-site storage for the Museum collection not currently on display – Still under discussion with the City
acquire new display racks, storage equipment, and canopies for outdoor events - Achieved
increase our funding level for future museum needs – Partly achieved and continuing
build our funding level for the planned museum expansion – Continuing
build collaborative relationships with other non-profits and businesses – Partly achieved and continuing
support Museum staff with the Museum Collection Inventory Project – Mostly achieved and continuing
perform major upgrades to our website and FaceBook pages – Mostly achieved and continuing www.lomita-rr.org, facebook.com/LomitaRailroadMuseum
2015 Priorities
The Foundation Board met in November to draft the following prioritized list of projects for the upcoming year and will meet again in January to develop a more detailed listing.
review our Calendar of Events for 2015-16 and maintain/grow visitor count
acquire additional on-site storage for the Museum collection not currently on display
continue to increase our funding level to help underwrite the cost of future museum projects, including:
repair/repaint yellow caboose – the Board has approved this project for Spring, 2015. Estimated cost: $5000.

restore wooden boxcar
the planned museum expansion
continue to support Museum staff with the Museum Collection Inventory Project
continue improving outreach to the public through the website, FaceBook page, and print materials
